Educational group tours to Europe

All educators know that there really is no substitute for getting out of the classroom if they want to bring learning to life. Travelling on an educational trip to Europe is no small investment and we work with our tour operator partners to create the right tour for each group based on their learning requirements and the reality of their budget. Trips can range from just 4 days to more than 3 weeks and cover the level of learning that is required by the group's educational establishment and the parents/students. Read on below for more information on some examples of educational tour content that we can help you with:

Literature, theatre and the West End of London

Shakespeare, Austen, Wordsworth, Wilde and even J K Rowling - we've created tours based on all these literary figures and more, not only in the UK and Ireland, but also in other European countries whose literary culture is incredibly rich. For theatre and drama groups, there is nothing like London's West End which, we believe, is even better than Broadway (not to mention cheaper!). As on Broadway, groups can experience backstage tours, workshops with cast members, and world-leading theatrical productions. History

Europe's thousands of years of history, from prehistoric Stonehenge and neolithic cave paintings, to Ancient Greeks, the Romans, the Vikings and on through the Royal houses of Europe, are part of any European tour. Europe's sites and museums are among the richest in the world in terms of exhibits and hands-on experiences, and many of them are free to visit. We can help you create a tour that perfectly captures a blend of awe-inspiring visits with learning and cultural experiences that will ensure your teachers come back to travel with you again and again.

Battlefields and wartime memorials

Learning about the relatively recent history of World War I and World War II is increasingly important in schools and universities and, as such, visits to the battlefields and related sites in England, France, Belgium and beyond are on the increase. We can help you with tour requests for locations such as the D-Day beaches in Normandy and WWI memorials at Vimy Ridge and Ypres, for example. We have access to activities that recreate the life of a soldier in the trenches, as well as to museums and visitor centres at many of the battlefields. We can also arrange visits to the sites of the concentration camp memorials in Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland.

Architecture and design

From the ancient ruins of Rome and Athens to the ultra-modern constructions in Bilbao and Valencia, architecture across Europe is daring, inspiring and always thought-provoking. We can assist you in planning tours throughout Europe focusing on different eras of design, from medieval walled cities to Art Deco Paris, and on to Gaudí's Modernist Barcelona.

STEM

We can arrange hands-on visits to show the development of science, technology, engineering and mathematics throughout Europe, from visits to CERN in Switzerland to the Big Pit in Wales. Car engineering factories, design museums and university campuses can all provide wonderful experiences for teachers and students, and many are very cost-effective to visit. Let us help you design your design tours!

European institutions

From the EU's parliaments and Commission, to national parliaments, stock exchanges, banks and more, we can arrange visits, talks and behind-the-scenes access throughout Europe's institutions.
