As we step into January, the month named after Janus, the Roman god of beginnings and transitions, itā€™s the perfect time to reflect on the past while setting our sights on the future. Janus is often depicted with two facesā€”one looking back at the past and the other forward to what lies ahead. Inspired by this theme of duality and transition, this month's desktop wallpapers showcase destinations that embody a unique connection to history while pointing towards a promising future. Wallpaper number 1 - what better place to start than the home of Janus himself? Romeā€™s layered history, from its ancient ruins like the Colosseum and Roman Forum to its modern bustling piazzas, symbolises the blending of past and future. This image captures the timeless beauty of the city, reminding us of our roots while inspiring us to build something enduring!
Wallpaper number 2 takes us to the northern city of Edinburgh, in Scotland. Perched atop ancient volcanic rock, Edinburghā€™s skyline is dominated by the historic Edinburgh Castle, while its streets are filled with modern creativity during events like the Edinburgh Festival and Fringe.
