Wallpapers - May 2026

Welcome to May 2026!

If you're new here, welcome to our monthly wallpapers!

This month, we’re marking the anniversary of the opening of the Channel Tunnel (sometimes known as the Chunnel), a remarkable feat of engineering that transformed how we travel between the UK and mainland Europe. Opened on 6 May 1994, it symbolises not just physical connectivity, but cultural exchange and opportunity - values that sit at the heart of every one of our group travel journeys. Our May wallpapers trace that journey, and spirit of connection, following a route from London into Europe and highlighting destinations along the way.

We hope you enjoy this month's wallpapers. Right click on the images below and select "save as..." to download your choice - all with the handy monthly calendar!

Wallpaper number 1 - The journey begins in London, a global city rich in history, culture, and diversity. As the primary departure point for many of our groups, it represents both familiarity and the excitement of setting off to explore beyond national borders.

Wallpaper number 2 takes us to the coastal town of Folkestone. Often overlooked, Folkestone is where our journey quite literally goes underground. As the UK gateway to the Channel Tunnel, it embodies transition and showcases a real masterpiece of engineering.Ā Ā

Wallpaper number 3 - Emerging in Calais, France, travellers arrive on mainland Europe within about 30 minutes. This historic port city has long been a meeting point of cultures, making it a fitting symbol of accessibility and exchange.

And, in this month’s bonus wallpaper, we arrive in Paris, one of Europe’s most iconic capitals. Paris represents the richness of European culture - from art and architecture to history and language. And so there we have it – from central London to central Paris in 2 hrs 30 mins without getting on a plane or getting your feet wet! When will you take the plunge and recreate our journey?
