If you're new here, welcome to our monthly wallpapers!

We’ve been so busy that time has literally got away and we find ourselves in November, reaching for the warm blanket and thoughts of the festive season!

This month, we’re visiting castles across Europe. Some are fairytale in looks, others are imposing fortresses. However, we simply cannot stop imagining their history and the people who lived here. Throughout the centuries, these castles have survived wars, natural disasters, been movie locations and provided us all with the stories of myths and legends. Is there a castle you may have visited which stands out in your memory? We’d love to hear about it so do let us know!

Wallpaper number 1 takes us to Malbork Castle in northern Poland. This UNESCO World Heritage site is the largest castle complex in the world. The incredible brick fortress encloses three fortified castles with their construction beginning in the 13th century. It is one of the most visited tourist destinations in Poland and covers over 52 acres.

Wallpaper number 2 is of Bouzov Castle in the Czech Republic. Dating back to the 13th and 14th centuries, the fairytale late-Gothic castle overlooks the town of Bouzov and has everything from gargoyles to dungeons, an armory and extravagant chandeliers!

Wallpaper number 3 takes us to the impressive Castel Sant’Angelo in Rome, Italy. Originally commissioned by the Roman Emperor Hadrian to be his and his family’s mausoleum, it was also once used as a castle and fortress by popes throughout history. As you study the city from atop one of the Castel terraces, you can begin to imagine the history and happenings in this incredible city.

And, for your bonus wallpaper, November is the month of Remembrance. We pay tribute to those who gave of their lives for the freedom of others and as is tradition for Armistice Day November 11, we share an image of poppies, in grateful reflection. This image is from the meadows in Yorkshire, England.
