SHOP - Shoulder and Off peak workshop

On 11 and 12 June, I attended the ETOA Advisory Council (AC) meeting, and the inaugural SHOP workshop (Shoulder and Off peak) in London. 

At the AC meeting, we discussed the impact of the ongoing situation in the Middle East, along with the challenges presented by both existing and proposed taxation measures, including visitor levies and potential VAT reforms. We also spent time looking at capacity and visitor management, and how tour operators, suppliers and destinations can work more closely together to demonstrate the value of organised tourism.

At SHOP, I was able to meet with some of our key suppliers, as well as new ones, to discuss some really exciting product ideas. These will form a major part of our product development as we head into the autumn planning and quoting season.
