ETOA General Assembly in Berlin

ETOA panel discussion

Yesterday, ETOA hosted its quarterly Advisory Council meeting, followed by the 2026 General Assembly and Members’ Meeting in Berlin. As ETOA President, I was delighted to chair the meeting and present at the assembly, as well have to have time with members to discuss many matters important to them.

The consistent theme throughout the day was the essential role organisations such as ETOA play in supporting and advocating for members within a rapidly evolving European operating environment. Rising costs, operational pressures and increasing access restrictions continue to present major challenges, particularly when changes are implemented with little notice and are difficult for businesses to absorb. Alongside wider geopolitical uncertainty and ongoing disruption in the Middle East, this naturally prompts discussion around Europe’s long-term competitiveness as a destination.

Even so, demand across most markets remains resilient. The day was marked by open and constructive conversations, useful insights and strong participation, highlighting once again the value of collaboration, communication and partnership across the industry.
