SYTA Webinar - partnering on performing groups

I was delighted to join another SYTA International Committee webinar, Take the Stage Abroad: Partnering with Receptive Operators & DMCs for Student Performance Groups.

This was the third in a series of SYTA webinars looking at international partnerships, and this time we focused on the particular challenges and opportunities involved in taking student choirs, bands and orchestras overseas.

We explored everything from finding the right performance venues and attracting local audiences to transporting instruments, arranging rehearsals and navigating the legal and logistical challenges of performing abroad. We also discussed the importance of working with local partners who really understand the needs of performance groups, and how good collaboration can help create some wonderful experiences for students.

As always, it was great to share our own experiences from Europe and hear different perspectives from colleagues working in other parts of the world.
